Tattoo - The painful process

How does a 1st tatto feels like?

A lot of people tell me, it's as good as having sex (it's true). Just imagine a Doc sticking a needle into your skin (like an injection). Instead of pumping whatever liquid into your body, he repeats the process on your skin. That's how it feels like. Of course, I'm talking about a small needle. Ok, imagine red ant bites on your arm over and over again. That's how it feels like.

It is actually bearable pain. My whole process took 2 1/2 hours (excluding choosing the pic, preparing the stencil, and preparing the needles and whatever cleaning equipment needed). My tattoo artist is one of Singapore's renowned who has a tattoo salon in Malaysia. It's really hard to get him but a friend recommended him to me so I got priority. Name's William. He got tattoo all over his working arm. The other arm is clean. Surprisingly, the friend who recommended me was a woman who had tattoos over her 2 arms.

His skill is really good. Since it was my 1st time, he used a needle (without ink) 1st to let me know the feeling. If it's ok, then he'll continue. The lines he draw are really fine and direct. No correction needed.

The most unbearable part was the shading and colouring. By then, I had been on the chair for close to 2 hours. When the shading and colouring was finally over, a few spots had bled due to excessive tattooing. My tattoo had shades of brown, orange, red and violet. That was the most painful part.

People have told me that tattooing is addictive. In fact, after my 1st tattoo, I agree wholeheartedly. I'm going for my 2nd one tomorrow.
