67 Vendetta - Education is getting harder
Do you remember your secondary school maths? It is probably what they are learning in primary school now.
My son and nephew's mathematics level are so high now. One is in P2 and the other in P5. Looking at P5 maths is like looking at my Sec 1 maths. Yes, the level of education is a lot higher now. At least english and chinese are subjects that requires lots of reading to improve, else they would be reading shakesphere by now.
I wonder if by Pre-U, they will be studying my degree subjects by then. Looking at how fast the standard is rising, that is a possibility. So that means I'd need a PHD if I want to continue being employed. That thought is so scary.
Nevertheless, education may be important but I never stress the kids out. If my son cannot get good academic marks, it does not matter. Maybe he is better at some other skills and can be developed in that area of his talent?
Whatever it is, go easy on'em.
